Day on the River

The Saluda River produces some of the best whitewater in the southeast when levels exceed their normal flow. With over six miles of gradient roaring through Columbia, you can’t pass up the adventure waiting for you only minutes from downtown--Nothing gets the heart thumping harder than a beautiful view and thunderous whitewater with waves approaching six feet. Many alternate rapid-runs are possible, so be sure to let your guide know how wet you and your friends want to get! There’s no doubt: Columbia is home of the best Southern Fried Whitewater around!

Day on the River            $50

The Saluda can be run at any level but it’s best when water is released from Lake Murray. When the flows are normal, this river trip can last about three hours and provide a series of class I-III whitewater. The day includes a ride through the infamous Class III-IV Mill Race rapids providing thrills and spills! The wildlife is more abundant at normal flows, and can be observed better at this level than on the shorter Thunder River Run.
